It started ok but then I realized that I was not able to save wherever I wanted. If I die before I beat the castle, I will be brought back to the starting point of the level….The Quick Save just doesn’t work effectively at all. This really frustrates me and I decided to stop and sell the game :-(

  2. This game does not utilize the Wii’s graphics capabilities at all. The characters are small and the controller is confusing to use. Think this is still a great product? It is already selling used after a few days from the release date.

Dear Nentendo : You suck and your representation of Italians suck. Marella will no take this anymore.. you have mocked us long enough! We do not jump on turtles, ride green dinosaurs, eat mushrooms, and save Princesses. Marella does respect you for your proper use of Women in your games; hopeless and weak, but Japan needs to stop being so butthurt about losing the war; and radiotyping everyone, and just accept it!

Marella gives this game a solid -10/5!

I WILL NEVER BUY A NENTENDO GAME EVER AGAIN!

I was so excited. I remember Mario from when I was a kid, it was the big “thing”. I am glad I rented this from the video store first, I find it boring and frustrating. As a previous reviewer mentioned, you restart from the beginning of the castle if you die.

I much prefer the active games like Wii Fit and the Sports that came with my Wii.

I realize lots of folks love this game, but I feel they are people that spend a fair amount of time gaming. I really wanted this for Christmas, and got it along with the straegy guide. However, it will be returned as used to get some money back and maybe I can find a taker on the guide (slightly used). Honestly, the game looks like fun, but I will never know. You can’t save until you win a boss battle. So, you have to complete EIGHT sections and win two boss (one in a tower and one in the castle) battles before you can save….the game goes on like this forever. So, not until you beat the whole game do you unlock the ability to save whenever you want. For new gamers, this is horrible. You can easily spend hours dying several times (requiring you to start all over)just trying to get to the first save option. Sure, someone that is very familir with Wii (the controller) and perhaps Mario games probably finds no trouble getting through the levels to save. However what about new gamers? Wii feels that they tackled that by once you die EIGHT times you can have luigi run through the level for you and you can then skip and and go on. I have no interest in buying a game that the only way i can try to get to a save function is have it go through the level for me, I want to learn that myself. Plus, you dont always have eight lives to give up for this function, your game could end and you have to start all over. Sure, I expect to get blasted for the review, because most folks love the game (and I have the strategy guide and still cant get far enough to save), but I use the strategy guide for help in finding things not the general ability to play the game. I think it is for folks that have spent a lot of time gaming so they are not frustated with the lack of save and that have the ability to play through levels easily so saving is not a concern. Very disappointed in the game and in Wii. If you want something that is similar in style, but much better – if you have a PS3, go get Little Big Planet – now that is a game that is challenging and fun.
